Strengthen the Late-stage Management of Red Fuji Apple

1. Fertilizer Management. 1. Underground Fertilization. When applying fertilizer in mid to late September, it is recommended to use a balanced compound fertilizer containing phosphorus and potassium, along with a moderate amount of nitrogen. This method can be combined with watering, but it's important to control the water volume to avoid over-saturation. Watering and fertilizing at this time helps prevent fruit cracking, enhances fruit coloration, and increases sugar content. 2. Foliar Fertilization. The main goal of foliar feeding is to improve fruit color and enhance tree nutrition. You can spray products like "Beautiful Fruit Dew," "Multi-Fat Milk" diluted 1000 times, 0.5% potassium dihydrogen phosphate, or amino acid-based photosynthetic fertilizer diluted 500 times. Apply this treatment two to three times in late September, and then once every 10 to 15 days.

2. Pruning. The main purpose of pruning during this period is to improve light exposure, which helps with fruit coloring and flower bud development. Key techniques include: 1. Opening branch angles to allow better sunlight penetration. 2. Thinning branches by removing unproductive ones such as vertical shoots, dense branches, leggy growth, and competing branches. For branches that are too low or blocking light, trim them back appropriately to maintain an open canopy structure.

3. Promoting Fruit Coloration. 1. Leaf Picking. Removing leaves around the fruit allows more sunlight to reach the fruit, aiding in color development. Starting after the end of September, remove shading leaves such as yellow or thin ones, ensuring that the fruit gets direct light. Be careful not to remove too many leaves, as this may lead to sunburn on the fruit surface. Focus on removing leaves within 5 cm of the top and outer parts of the canopy, and 10 cm from the lower part of the tree. 2. Fruit Turning. After leaf picking, turn the fruits gently to ensure even coloration. Turn the fruit every 5–6 days, holding it carefully to avoid damaging the fruit. If some areas remain uncolored, adjust the position slightly. Always turn the fruit in the same direction to prevent unnecessary fruit drop. 3. Reflective Film. Place reflective film under the tree about 20 days before harvest. Remove the fruit bag 3–5 days before, then lay the reflective film beneath the tree to help color the lower parts of the canopy and fruits.

4. Pest Control. Effective pest management is crucial for protecting both leaves and fruits. In September, there is a peak in ringworm disease, which can be controlled using a thiophanate-methyl solution (1000 times) or carbendazim (600 times). Additionally, common pests like caterpillars may attack leaves. Remove infested leaves promptly and apply a mixture of cypermethrin (1500 times) and urea (1500 times) to manage aphids, leafhoppers, and other pests effectively.

5. Timely Harvesting. Red Fuji apples are typically harvested from late October to early November. Delaying harvest slightly can improve fruit color and quality, provided the weather remains favorable. It's important to monitor fruit maturity and pick when the fruit reaches its optimal color and sugar level for best results.

Natural Pigment

Natural pigments are food pigments obtained from natural resources. A pigment extracted mainly from animal and plant tissues and microorganisms (culture), of which most are plant colorants.Natural pigments have the advantages of safety and no side effects. Due to the use of natural pigments, the appearance of some products is less artificial, so they are closer to the natural form, thus attracting more consumers. Our product:Turmeric extract;Lycopene;Beta carotene;Chlorophyll;Maize yellow pigment.
