Small-tailed sheep lamb lack milk supplement method

For dairy-free lambs, a mixture of fresh eggs, cod liver oil, and salt is often used to prepare a nutritious feed by combining it with boiled water. For young lambs, mixing this blend with milk can enhance the nutritional value even further. The preparation method is as follows: one fresh egg, 4 ml of cod liver oil (or one capsule), 2 grams of salt, and 100 ml of boiling water. First, mix the egg, cod liver oil, and salt in a cup, then add the boiling water and stir thoroughly until the temperature cools down to between 38°C and 40°C. This mixture is then ready to be fed to the lambs. Lambs born within the first 7 days should be fed 4 to 6 times daily, with each feeding being around 50 ml. Alternatively, the total daily intake should be about 1/5 to 1/4 of their birth weight. As they grow, the amount should gradually increase. On day 8, the feeding quantity can be raised to 0.8–1.0 kg per day. By the time the lambs reach 15 days old, they can start being introduced to solid feed through training. During this period, the amount of cod liver oil can be slowly reduced. After one month, the feed quantity should be adjusted accordingly—reducing the amount of liquid feed while increasing the proportion of forage or roughage. This helps them transition smoothly to a more natural diet as they grow stronger and more independent.
