We repurposed our old dresser to store all his baby clothes and gear, but I wanted something special—a place where we could hang those adorable outfits that he would only fit into for such a short time.
That's when my husband came up with this brilliant idea using items we already had lying around from our previous office setup. We started with an IKEA Lack wall shelf ($14.99), which is perfect for adding a touch of style while keeping things functional. Then, we attached an IKEA Bygel Rail ($3.99) to the bottom of the shelf. This simple addition allows us to hang clothes without taking up valuable floor space. The result? A stylish and practical solution that costs less than $20!
Books and decorative items now sit comfortably on top of the shelf, while the lower section serves as the perfect spot for hanging baby clothes. To add some charm, we paired it with a set of cute wooden hangers. It blends seamlessly into the room's decor, making it feel like it belongs there naturally.
We've been using this hanging wardrobe shelf for quite some time now, and it has held up beautifully. Even though we've moved to a new place since creating this project, it remains one of our favorite additions to the nursery. It's amazing how something so simple can bring so much joy and functionality to our daily routine.
Looking back at those early days with Skylar, it makes me smile every single time. His tiny fingers and toes were so delicate, and hearing his little coos filled our hearts with so much happiness. Now, watching him take his first steps and form his first words fills us with pride and excitement. Life sure changes quickly, doesn't it?
