1. Inspect the engine's appearance and check for any signs of oil leaks or seepage. Look at the exhaust pipe to see if it's blackened or emitting black smoke, which could indicate incomplete combustion of diesel fuel. Also, check for any visible damage or deformation on the engine's exterior.

2. Perform a thorough check of the engine's internal condition. Ensure that the cylinder compression is strong and that there are no unusual noises when decompressing or rotating the engine. Listen carefully to the engine's sound—ideally, it should be clear and consistent. When you adjust the throttle, the sound should remain normal. Monitor the oil pressure gauge, water temperature meter, and ammeter to ensure they are within normal ranges and that the exhaust smoke is light in color. If everything looks good, test the vehicle's travel mechanism and chassis transmission by engaging each gear. The operating mechanism should move smoothly, and the transmission should make positive, clear sounds. After parking, check the oil tank for any presence of water. If you notice foam in the oil, it may indicate water contamination, which could suggest a crack in the engine block.

3. Evaluate the quality of the materials used in the agricultural vehicle. The material quality directly affects the durability and strength of the vehicle. A high-quality agricultural vehicle should be built with robust and long-lasting components.

(1) The frame, often referred to as the "girder," serves as the base structure of the vehicle, supporting both its own weight and the load it carries. The quality of the frame is crucial. A well-built agricultural vehicle will have integrated longitudinal and cross beams without using press-stack welding, which does not meet technical standards. Avoid purchasing vehicles with such construction methods.

(2) The compartment plate of the agricultural truck can be made from either cold-rolled steel or hot-rolled steel. Cold-rolled steel offers better mechanical strength and corrosion resistance compared to hot-rolled steel. It also has a smoother surface, making it more suitable for painting. Hot-rolled steel, on the other hand, tends to have a rougher texture and may not paint as evenly. Additionally, cold-rolled steel is typically about 1,000 yuan more expensive per ton than hot-rolled steel.

The surface should be smooth, free of imperfections like cracks, shrinkage holes, or uneven textures. When inspecting, gently tap the housing with a small hammer. A crisp sound indicates good quality, while a dull or hoarse sound may suggest internal flaws or cracks.

(4) Tires play a significant role in the performance and cost of an agricultural vehicle, accounting for roughly 20% of the total price. Inspect the tire's outer surface for any cracks, missing rubber, scars, whitening, or incorrect tread patterns. Check the type of cord used in the tire's structure—nylon cords are generally superior to cotton or rayon cords, and radial tires offer better performance than conventional ones.

(5) The paint quality on agricultural vehicles is not only important for aesthetics but also for protection and longevity. High-quality vehicles use advanced baking techniques, resulting in a glossy, even finish with a hard, durable film. To test the paint, wipe a dry cloth over a less visible area. If the color and shine remain unchanged, it likely uses high-quality paint. If the paint turns white, it may be regular spray paint. You can also test the hardness by applying a small amount of nail varnish to the painted surface. If the paint peels off and reveals another color underneath, it might be a repainted or reconditioned unit.
