“Memory is like a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things.†~Pierce Harris
Yesterday was Easter, and while there were plenty of festivities—like hunting for colorful eggs stuffed with chocolates and money, indulging in cinnamon rolls, and enjoying family meals—it wasn’t the day itself that stuck with me, but the little moments scattered throughout. Watching my children’s faces light up as they rediscovered hidden treasures brought such pure joy. The spontaneous laughter and giggles that erupted when one of them decided to blow kisses to everyone in the room? Priceless.
Then there were the “conversations†happening at the kids’ table while the adults reminisced about old times. It’s funny how kids manage to create their own world of wonder even during grown-up gatherings.
And let’s not forget my youngest’s newfound talent for finding and filling his bucket with eggs. It’s amazing how quickly they grow and adapt, isn’t it?
There was also the playful rivalry between my kids, like when they tried to swipe each other’s eggs during the hunt. Classic sibling antics!
As much as I wish I could capture every single moment, I know some will remain tucked away in their hearts, cherished and remembered long after the baskets have been put away. Those are the memories I hope they carry forward, woven into their own tapestries of life.
So, what tiny treasures have you picked up and tucked away recently?
