For feeding, young commercial geese at one month old should start with small amounts and gradually increase to 50% of their diet. For 3–5 month old geese, the fermented material can make up the entire diet. Breeding geese can be fed 70% of their diet as fermented material combined with other ingredients such as sunflower meal, bone meal, corn, and shell powder. Another method involves using sunflower shell powder. First, dry and grind the sunflower shells into powder, then soak them in boiling water before mixing with other feed components. Goslings can begin consuming this powder at 20 days old, starting with small quantities and gradually increasing the proportion. By day 30, the amount should reach 30% of the diet, and by day 60, it should be 60%. At 90 days old, the ratio can go up to 80%. This method allows geese to be raised for 120 days while consuming up to 4 kg of feed per bird. This approach not only reduces feed costs but also improves digestion and overall health, making it a sustainable and efficient feeding strategy for goose farming.
