How to treat peanut shells into feed

First, the reference formulation consists of crushed peanut shells at 50-60%, Corn powder at about 30%, and soybean meal at around 10%. The recommended dosage of Golden Baby II feed starter is 1-2 times higher than usual. Before fermentation, it's better to treat the peanut shell powder with Golden Baby 8 straw feed starter. Additionally, mixing Kinpo straw enzymatic agent with the starter can help speed up the fermentation process.

Second, the operating instructions: First, mix this product thoroughly with the material to be fermented. To ensure even mixing, you can use a gradual dilution method. Then add water and mix well, keeping the moisture content between 65% and 75%. To check the moisture level, take a handful of the fermented material and squeeze it. If you see some moisture on your fingers but no dripping, it’s just right. If the material is too wet and juice drips out, or if it doesn’t spread when released, the moisture is too high. Adjust by adding more dry material or water as needed. Once properly mixed, place the material into containers like pots, jars, pools, or plastic bags, seal them, and let them ferment for 2-3 days at room temperature. Fermentation is complete when the material becomes fragrant, sweet, and slightly alcoholic, making it ready for feeding.

For large-scale fermentation, you can stack the material directly on a clean concrete floor or in a fermentation tank, cover it with a sealed plastic film, and let it ferment. This method works well for larger quantities.

Third, important notes: 1. When stacking or loading the material, make sure it’s sealed but not compacted. 2. When removing feed from the container or bag, reseal it immediately to avoid contamination. 3. Avoid using spoiled or foul-smelling raw materials. Improper storage after fermentation can lead to mold or bad odors, which makes the feed unsuitable for animals. 4. Dosage and usage of the final product: For fermented energy and protein feeds, piglets can be fed with 20%-30% of their total feed, while larger pigs, chickens, and ducks can have 30-50% (based on dry matter). Always introduce fermented feed gradually and don’t replace more than 50% of the regular feed at once. 5. Store the finished product in a cool, dry place to maintain quality.
