How to manage laying hens under a good market

In the past two months, the price of eggs has been high. According to relevant departments' forecasts, good market conditions may continue into the Spring Festival. With such a good market, farmers are advised to manage the layers as follows:

Ensure chicken health

To make chickens more productive, the flock must be healthy. After entering the fall, the diseases that are likely to occur in laying hens include leukocyte protozoa, fowl pox, staphylococcal disease, etc. Chicken pox can be solved through immunity. Staphylococcus disease should be carefully observed to prevent trauma and fowl pox and live leukocyte protozoa disease. Should be regularly prevented with sulfonamides or Chinese herbs.

Adjust feeding nutrition

The purpose of raising chickens is to make money. In the case of good market conditions, it must be calculated as an input-output account. The conditions were as self-inflicted as possible. During the peak period, whole-bean meal diets were used, adding 24% to 26%; after the peak, the chickens could use the mixed-grain diet and protein feeds accounted for 22% to 24%. When using a premix, additional 0.1% to 0.2% methionine can be added.

Don't ignore immunization

Some farmers are worried about the stress caused by the immune system, affecting the production of eggs, affecting the making of money, and neglecting the normal immunity of chickens. Because chicken diseases such as Newcastle disease and bird flu mainly rely on artificial immunity to produce antibodies to protect the flock, when the antibody falls below a safe value, it should be strengthened in time. Although there is some stress on the flock at this time, it can protect the flock long-term health.

Forced moulting

For chickens over 500 days of age, artificial forced moulting can be used as long as it is healthy. Before the moulting, the flock was firstly adjusted to eliminate diseased, weak, and residual chickens, and Newcastle disease I (2 times) and bird flu H5 and H9 vaccines were injected. The hunger method can be used to stop the birds for 10 to 15 days, and to stop the water for 3 days (the specific time should be based on the weightlessness of the birds and hair removal). When 80% of chickens in the flock lost 28% to 30% of their body weight, they began to feed and feed. Feeding requirements for moults after laying hens are: 1/3 of the original diet, 2/3 of the original diet the next day, and normal feeding on the third day. Eggs begin to be seen around 40 days, and egg yolks are replaced when the egg production rate is 5%.

Feed chickens in a timely manner

Due to the poor market conditions in the first half of this year and the lack of timely restocking, resulting in a small amount of stocks, it is now possible to replenish the flocks in time, do a good job of brooding, and strengthen the rearing and management of broiler chickens.
