Fresh pig manure feeds fish directly

When some fish farmers use pig manure as a feed, they often choose to ferment it first. However, this step isn't always necessary. Research has shown that fresh pig manure can be directly used to feed fish without any prior treatment. This method not only saves time but also retains more nutrients that are beneficial for the fish. Fresh pig manure contains a higher concentration of nutrients compared to fermented manure, making it more effective for fish growth. It's also easier to handle and doesn’t require a special fermentation tank, which helps reduce costs. The utilization rate is higher, and the manure spreads quickly in the water, improving nutrient distribution. Feeding fish with fresh pig manure is straightforward. For every 3 to 4 pigs' feces, you can feed about one mu (a traditional Chinese unit of area) of fish pond. Simply pour the fresh manure directly into the water, and adjust the amount based on daily consumption. It’s important to feed regularly, in small portions, and avoid overfeeding, especially during hot weather or before thunderstorms. In such conditions, it's best to stop feeding altogether. Monitoring water quality is essential when using fresh pig manure. The manure can lower the pH of the water, making it more acidic. To counteract this, you can add around 30 to 40 kg of lime water across the entire surface of the pond. This helps maintain a balanced environment and supports healthy fish development. Regular checks of the water’s clarity, temperature, and chemical composition are recommended to ensure optimal conditions for the fish.
