Fresh pig manure feeds fish directly

When some fish farmers use pig manure as fish feed, they often choose to ferment it first. However, this step is not always necessary. Studies have shown that fresh pig manure can be directly used to feed fish without any prior processing. This method is not only effective but also more convenient and cost-efficient. Fresh pig manure contains a higher concentration of nutrients that are easily absorbed by fish. There's no need for a special fermentation tank, which saves both time and money. Additionally, using fresh manure helps maintain better water quality, as it doesn't spoil quickly and promotes faster nutrient release into the water. When feeding fish with fresh pig manure, it's recommended to use about 3 to 4 pigs' feces per mu of pond surface area. The manure should be placed directly into the water, and the amount given should be enough for the fish to consume within a day. It's best to feed small amounts frequently and consistently every day. However, during hot weather or before thunderstorms, it's important to avoid overfeeding. In such conditions, it’s safer to stop feeding temporarily. Regular monitoring of water quality is essential. Fresh pig manure can lower the pH of the water, making it more acidic. To counteract this, you can add around 30 to 40 kg of lime water across the entire pond surface. This helps maintain a balanced and healthy environment for the fish, ensuring optimal growth and reducing the risk of disease.
