Loofah to go to be technical points

Loofahs, when properly managed, can enhance pollination efficiency and reduce the unnecessary use of nutrients in the soil and plant, allowing the plant to focus more on fruit development and ultimately increasing yield per unit area. Studies have shown that, under similar growing conditions, loofah plants that underwent rhizome-based management saw a 17.9% increase in fruit set per plant, a 15.9% increase in individual fruit weight, and a remarkable 36.8% rise in overall yield compared to those without such treatment. Here's how we implement this technique: First, it's important to thin out loofah plants for better cross-pollination. Female flowers produce one fruit each, and it takes about 15 days from bud formation to harvest. Male flowers, on the other hand, grow in long inflorescences with 20–35 blossoms each. A single plant typically has more male inflorescences than female ones, and their pollination capacity far exceeds what is needed. Additionally, male flowers bloom for up to 30–40 days—three to four times longer than female flowers—which means they consume a significant amount of nutrients during this time. Removing excess male flowers early helps conserve energy for the female flowers, improving fruit production. Rhizome method: Starting when female flowers appear, remove 80% of the male inflorescences from each loofah plant, leaving 20% for necessary pollination. Second, removing tendrils is also crucial. Tendrils help vines climb and spread, but they remain active for a long time, consuming valuable nutrients and making it harder for the plant to produce multiple fruits. By removing the tendrils and using artificial supports instead, the plant can focus on photosynthesis, nutrient accumulation, and disease prevention. This leads to healthier pollination and higher yields. Tendril removal method: At the beginning of the loofah’s growth, use stakes or trellises to guide the vines. Once the vines are evenly spread and secured, you can safely remove the tendrils as they no longer serve a purpose. This practice not only improves plant health but also makes harvesting more efficient and productive.
