The money tree, also known as Pachira or Guan Mu, is a popular ornamental plant belonging to the Malvaceae family. It's an evergreen small tree native to Mexico and Costa Rica, characterized by its palmate leaves, which typically have 7 to 11 leaflets that are oblong to obovoid in shape. There's also a horticultural variety called "flower leaf" money tree, which is especially admired for its unique appearance.
The money tree is celebrated for its elegant posture and lush, green foliage, making it a perfect addition to any living room or commercial space. Its name, "Pachira," is believed to bring good fortune, which has made it particularly popular among business people and the general public. With its attractive, hammer-shaped trunk and vibrant green leaves, it’s ideal for home decoration and landscaping purposes.
In recent years, the demand for money trees in China has been growing rapidly. During holidays and special occasions, hotels, restaurants, and individuals often purchase them to welcome prosperity and luck. However, cultivating money trees can be challenging, requiring specific techniques. Traditional methods are time-consuming and labor-intensive. Fortunately, a new and effective method has emerged.
We conducted our own experiments, and the results were truly impressive. On May 27, 2007, we used 100 grams of Gemba lucidum fertilizer and planted it in a pot with a money tree. At that time, we measured the growth: the buds were between 1 to 2 cm long, with the shortest being 1 cm and the longest no more than 2 cm. The sprouts were only about 3.5 cm tall.
Four days later, on May 31, 2007, after applying Gemophilus arborescens fertilizer, we measured again. To our surprise, the shortest bud had grown to 3 cm, and the longest reached over 4.5 cm. The sprouts had grown beyond 10 cm! This growth rate was far faster than natural development, even surpassing our expectations. We were amazed at how effective Gemophilus pleurotus was.
Most flower growers, especially those who cultivate money trees, would likely want to try this method. It could bring unexpected results and revolutionize the way we grow these beautiful plants. Give it a shot — you might be surprised by the transformation!
