Removable parts should be avoided as much as possible unless absolutely necessary. When the distribution pump is running, a small oil pan should be used to collect the diesel fuel that is discharged. This helps prevent unnecessary exposure and contamination of internal components.
When disassembling the oil pump rotor, always remove it in the direction of the rotor’s rotation. A special wrench is required for this process to avoid damaging the internal mechanism. It's important to handle this carefully to maintain the integrity of the pump.
The small screw located in the center of the right end of the pump rotor serves as a plug for the machining center’s oil passage. In most cases, it should not be removed unless there is a specific reason. Removing it unnecessarily could affect the internal flow and performance of the system.
Do not remove the timing ring or the cam ring, as they are fixed in place by their own elasticity. The factory has already calibrated the positioning, and reinstallation after removal can be difficult and may lead to misalignment.
When removing the spline cover and front and rear control boards, make sure to note their original positions for proper reassembly. Only minor adjustments should be made to the front and rear control boards when adjusting the maximum fuel supply. This ensures accurate operation and prevents over-fueling.
If there is no issue with the pressure regulator valve assembly, it should not be disassembled. If disassembly is unavoidable, take care to keep the spring secure and replace it with an identical one. Losing the spring could lead to improper fuel pressure regulation.
When removing the triangular contact plate, mark the connection point so that it can be properly aligned during reassembly. This helps maintain the correct mechanical relationship and ensures smooth operation of the pump.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure that the pump remains in optimal condition and reduces the risk of damage or malfunction during maintenance. Always proceed with caution and use the correct tools for each step.
