Sun Zhengcai stressed that the key to preventing and controlling major animal diseases is to do a good job of immunization. The animal husbandry and veterinary departments at all levels must effectively organize the immunization work against bird flu, foot-and-mouth disease, highly pathogenic blue-ear disease and swine fever, and ensure that the centralized immunization work in the fall is completed before mid-November, and the immune density of livestock and poultry should be avoided to achieve 100 %. Organize vaccine ordering and supply, strengthen quality supervision, and ensure immunity needs.
In order to further strengthen the monitoring of the epidemic, the Ministry of Agriculture has conducted regular and fixed-point monitoring of bird flu and blue ear disease since August. Sun Zhengcai requested the livestock and veterinary departments around the country to strictly follow the monitoring plan, insist on the combination of daily monitoring and emergency monitoring, and combine comprehensive monitoring with fixed-point monitoring.
