Their face is slightly concave, and their body is long and muscular. The breed is entirely white in color, hence the name "Large White." Adult boars typically weigh between 250 to 300 kg, while sows range from 230 to 250 kg.
When it comes to fattening performance, Yorkshire pigs grow quickly and efficiently convert feed into weight. By six months of age, they can reach around 100 kg. Under optimal feeding conditions, their daily weight gain can be approximately 700 grams, with about 3 kg of compound feed required per kilogram of weight gained. At 90 kg, the slaughter rate is between 71% and 73%, with a lean meat content of 60% to 65%.
Reproductively, sows typically give birth to litters of around 11 piglets and have seven pairs of functional teats. Breeding usually begins at 8.5 to 10 months of age, ensuring a productive and sustainable reproductive cycle.
