Introduction of China's concentrated apple juice industry and application of ATAGO products

China's concentrated apple juice processing industry began in the early 1980s. After 20 years and three stages of development, the concentrated apple juice processing industry has developed rapidly in China. At present, China has become the world's largest producer and exporter of concentrated apple juice, and its annual export volume accounts for the world's total trade. Half of the amount. Japan's ATAGO hand-held sugar meter, Abbe refractometer, and automatic refractometer are widely used in the apple juice industry to detect and monitor the juice concentration and product quality of products from raw materials to finished products.

Developed countries are the main consumers of apple juice, accounting for 85% of the total sales. There is a certain correlation between the consumption of fruit juice and per capita GDP. When per capita GDP reaches $3,000, the demand for juice drinks will grow rapidly. The per capita GDP of developed countries has already exceeded 3,000 US dollars. The demand for juice has passed the stage of rapid growth and the growth is stable. Fruit juice consumption in developing countries is experiencing rapid growth. In 2008, China’s GDP reached more than $432 billion, and per capita GDP reached $3,266. At the same time, China's consumption of apple juice in 2008 also showed rapid growth, from 50,000 tons in 2007 to 160,000 tons, an increase of 220%.

China's production of concentrated apple juice China is the world's largest producer and exporter of concentrated apple juice. Thanks to suitable climatic conditions, good production management and the widespread use of planting facilities, China's apple production has continued to grow at a rate of 7% to 10% in recent years. It is estimated that China's apple production in 2009/10 will reach 32 million tons, accounting for 51.66% of the world's total output; the output will increase by 2,200,000 tons, contributing to the world's apple production by 105.26%. China has become stable and promotes the world's total apple output. The core strength.

Rich apple resources and low labor costs make Chinese apple juice have certain competitive advantages. The increasing production cost of apple juice in Europe has led to the shrinking production scale of its concentrated apple juice, mainly relying on imports to meet market demand, which provides a huge international market for apple juice export in China. In the 07/08 crop season, China exported a total of 930,000 tons of concentrated apple juice, accounting for 70.56% of the world's total. Subsequently, due to the global economic crisis, the export volume of concentrated apple juice suddenly dropped. From January to November 2009, China exported a total of 740,000 tons of concentrated fruit juice, of which the monthly export volume in November was 39,400 tons (Figure 1).

China's apple production is mainly concentrated in the Bohai Bay (including Lu, Yi, Liao, Jing, Jin), the northwest Loess Plateau (including Shaanxi, Gansu, Jin, Ning, Qing), the Yellow River's old road (including Henan, Su, Yu) and southwestern cold The four major producing areas such as Lianggao, the main producing provinces are Shaanxi, Shandong, Liaoning, Henan, Shanxi, Hebei, Gansu and Jiangsu. From January to August 2010, China's total export of concentrated apple juice was 490,000 tons, with a total value of 421 million US dollars, and the average unit price was 860 US dollars/ton. Compared with the same period of last year, the export volume decreased by 17%, the amount decreased by 11%, and the average price increased. 7%. From the point of view of exporting provinces and cities (Figure 2), Shaanxi, Shandong, Beijing, Gansu, Shanxi and Henan are the main export provinces of concentrated apple juice in China. From January to August 2010, the above six regions exported concentrated apple juice. The amount is 470,300 tons, accounting for 96% of the total export of concentrated apple juice in the country, and the export value is 404 million US dollars. Among them, the amount of concentrated apple juice exported from Shaanxi Province is 287,000 tons, accounting for 59% of the total export of concentrated apple juice in the country, the export value is 243 million US dollars, and the average export price is 846 US dollars/ton.

For China's concentrated apple juice producers, the foreign market can basically be divided into high-priced markets represented by Japan, medium-priced markets represented by the United States and Canada, and low-priced markets represented by Europe. From the perspective of exporting countries and regions (Figure 3), from January to August 2010, China's exports of concentrated apple juice to more than 10,000 tons were: the United States (25.30 million tons), the Russian Federation (5.05 million tons), Japan. (34,900 tons), Canada (28,800 tons), the Netherlands (27,000 tons), Australia (23,100 tons), South Africa (20,800 tons) and Germany (12,800 tons). Among them, the United States is China's largest exporter of concentrated apple juice. From January to August 2010, China's exports of concentrated apple juice to the United States totaled 253,000 tons, accounting for 52% of the country's total exports; the amount of 215 million US dollars, the average price of 850 US dollars / ton; the number of exports decreased by 4% over the same period of last year, the amount decreased by 5%, and the average price decreased by 1.1%. From January to August 2010, China's concentrated apple juice exports to the EU-27 countries amounted to 47,100 tons, amounting to 29.88 million US dollars, the average price of 796 US dollars / ton; compared with the same period last year, the number decreased by 64%, the amount decreased by 55%, the average price Rise 25%.
