How to Drive a Farm Vehicle to Save Fuel

The level of technical operation of agricultural vehicle drivers has a direct impact on the amount of fuel consumption. In general, the difference in driving levels can result in a difference of 6%-15% in fuel consumption. Therefore, proper control of the driving operation method plays an important role in saving fuel. The following are the correct methods of operation: (1) The engine should be warmed up at low temperatures; the temperature in winter is low, the viscosity of the engine oil is increased, and the engine starting resistance is large. Tests have proved that when the temperature is 13°C, if the engine is not warmed up, the engine temperature can be increased to 80°C after 15 minutes after starting; if the engine is warmed up to 40°C and restarted, the engine temperature can be increased to 10 minutes. At 80°C, fuel consumption is 3/5 of the former. (2) Pay attention to the engine cooling water temperature; the engine cooling water temperature should be maintained at the optimal temperature of 80-90°C. According to tests, if the temperature of the cooling water in the vehicle is around 60°C, the fuel consumption will increase by 8%-10%. (3) Maintaining medium-speed driving; medium-speed driving can save fuel, and driving speed is too high or too low, which will increase fuel consumption. (4) Reasonable taxiing; The use of vehicle inertial force and terrain driving is one of the fuel-saving methods. The method of gliding on a wide straight slope with a slope of less than 5% and hilly undulations can save fuel, but taxiing must ensure safety, and it is not appropriate to glide in poor conditions, bends, slippery roads, unclear lines of sight, and steep slopes. (5) The correct use of braking; driving, on the premise of ensuring safety, try not to use less or less braking.
