Spotted breeding technology

Siniperca scherzeri Steindachner is also known as sarcophagus, cylinder (barrel) pupa, bamboo tuber pupa, sweet-scented osmanthus fish. Body side flat, slightly cylindrical, the head has a black round spot, the body side has more irregular dark spots, some with white ring or yellow ring around the circumference, body brown, yellow and white belly. Although the individuals are not large, but the meat is delicate and tender, it is a high-grade freshwater edible fish. The export price of commercial fish with specifications of around 250g/tail is around 130 yuan/kg, and the domestic market price is also around 90 yuan/kg.
Spotted turtles are distributed in lakes or reservoirs with clear water quality in East Asia, and large reservoirs such as Qiandao Lake, Jinshuitan, and Wuxijiang in Zhejiang Province have a certain amount of natural production. At present, the reservoir fishermen carry out breeding of wild-spotted cages in the form of holdings, and the output is far from meeting the market demand, so the prospects for artificial breeding are broad. Compared with S.chuatsi, it has its own characteristics:
1. Adult individuals are smaller and have a slightly slower growth rate but have a better taste.
2. Although fierce fish, but not limited to only eat live fish, but also eat fresh "dead fish", feed easily resolved.
3. Mature individuals have fewer eggs.

I. Pond rearing
1. It is advisable to use small ponds in the breeding ponds, which require good water quality, no pollution, and easy access to drainage. One week before stocking, “Chen Shui” was pumped out, then the new water was injected and the fertilizer was used to fertilize the water so that there was an appropriate amount of plankton in the pool.
2. Tame the 40-mesh polyethylene mesh around the corner of the pond to serve as a tame area. The area accounts for about 10% of the entire pond. The height of the mesh is 0.8-1.0 m, and the bottom is buried in 20 cm of mud. m with bamboo raft piling support. Spotted predators have poor ability to catch food and eat only when the target is close to it, so it is best to feed half-dead feed fish. The domestication method is: using yellow muddy water to “feed” the feed fish to a half dead (active but not able to escape) and feed it; after the turtles gather to actively feed, the feed fish can be killed and then fed. At this time, the fences of the domesticated area shall be completely removed, and several points shall be provided for feeding at the poolside, until the cantharides can take the initiative to feed and the entire domestication process is completed.
3. The aquaculture management feeds three times a day, and the daily feeding amount is 5%-8% of the total weight of the fish species. The feed fish is preferably fresh wild fish, small white peony, etc., and chilled fish is also available. Adequate feed supply is the basic guarantee for successful breeding. During the rearing period, regularly clean the dirt on the drain outlet and check the safety of the mouth frequently. Observe changes in food intake, activities, and water quality of the fish daily, and detect abnormalities in time. Keep records of weather, water temperature, feeding, disease, and fish growth. Before feed, feed fish should be soaked with 3% saline to kill parasites and pathogens and reduce the disease caused by feed. Alternately use copper sulphate solution spray and trichloroisocyanuric acid (Quanquan spillage) every half month; use appropriate amount of oxytetracycline to feed the bait during the high season of fish disease (July-September).

Second, cage feeding
1. The cages and their cages are mainly made of polyethylene mesh, with a mesh of 1 cm. The cage size is 3m3m4m. For ease of management, open, framed floating cages are generally used.
2. Stocking density began to be stocked in January and February. Generally, the stocking size of 50g/tail was 10 to 50 tails per square meter. The specific stocking amount depends on the quality of the water.
3. At the beginning of domestication, a small amount of freshly killed green shrimp is fed daily, and yellow-water can also be used to “feed” the bait fish into half-lives before feeding. After the spot-catches can concentrate on feeding, the amount of green or half dead fish can be reduced. Feeding quantity, gradually increase the amount of fresh dead fish until the turtle can get used to eating fresh dead fish.
4. Feeding and management during the tame phase of the feeding amount is appropriately less. After the normal feeding of the spotted turtle, feeding twice a day, the daily feeding amount is 5%-8% of the total weight of the fish. The feed fish is preferably fresh wild fish, and the shape of the fish is more like a long tube. Each day, the tank is patrolled once and washed once every 15 days to keep the tank in a normal state, keeping the water in the tank fresh and the water flowing unimpeded. Judging from the situation of cage conservation in Quzhou City and Chunan County in Zhejiang Province, liver disease in the rearing of spotted turtles is currently the leading cause of death. Therefore, we must focus on prevention work. For example, use 3% to 4% of salt water to soak marinade and baitfish, about 3-8 minutes each time, depending on the water temperature.
