Restaurant owner on food safety class

(Reporter Shi Hongxing’s correspondent Ge Aiguo) In order to improve the food safety management and food emergencies handling capacity of catering service units, on October 15, the Liunan District Food and Drug Administration of Liuzhou City called together the medium-sized restaurants, schools, and kindergartens in the area. The head of the canteen and over 400 head chefs conducted food safety training.

It is understood that only food circulation business households currently have 4,450 households in the Liunan District, accounting for about one-third of the city. Due to the weak awareness of food safety, some catering service units have problems such as unlicensed operation, lack of health certificates for employees, lack of implementation of rules and regulations such as purchase and sales ledgers, poor sanitary conditions in the operation room, etc., and there are food safety risks. In order to solve these problems and eliminate food safety hazards, the Bureau organized the training.

Many people in charge of catering service units stated that training has not only enhanced their awareness of food safety, but also enabled them to acquire the skills to control the risks of food production, processing and operations.
