The West German long-haired rabbit is the German Angora rabbit and is a world-famous wool rabbit breed originating from the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1986, the Nanjing Jinling Rabbit Breeding Farm was reintroduced from the Federal Republic of Germany with 200 excellent Western German long-haired rabbits for pure breeding and promotion.
West German long-haired rabbits are pure white and larger in size. Stronger fertility, average about 6 per litter. Young rabbits grow rapidly and adult rabbits weigh up to 3-4 kg. It is known for its good hair-producing performance. It has high hair density, a hairy plexus structure, and is not easy to agglomerate. The hair fiber has wavy bending and is of good quality. Adult rabbits cut hair once every 90 days. The average annual shearing volume is 500-800 grams, and the highest individual is more than 1 kilogram.
