According to experts, the raw material for fermentation that can replace biogas from livestock and poultry excrement is straw. The straw is put directly into the biogas digester for fermentation. On the one hand, due to the slow decomposition of the straw in the biogas digester and the low utilization of raw materials, the phenomenon of serious crusting is easy to occur; on the other hand, due to the lack of special straw smashing equipment and feeding and discharging equipment The enthusiasm of farmers to use straw is not high. In addition, the straw directly enters the biogas digester without treatment, which not only produces slower biogas production, but also produces less gas. This technique was rarely applied after the 1980s, and promotion and application were basically in a state of stagnation.

However, the output of crop straw in China is 600-700 million tons per year. If we can give full play to their role, the production of biogas through the fermentation of straw into a biogas digester will not only solve the problem of insufficient raw material for biogas fermentation, but also fully provide daily fuel needed by farmers. It can also absorb a large amount of straw and solve the headache burning problem from the source. At the same time, straw slag after anaerobic digestion is also a high-quality solid organic fertilizer, which contains high organic matter, can improve soil physical and chemical properties, enhance soil fertility, and is easy to transport, and is more suitable as a base fertilizer for crops, or as a base material for mushroom.

Scientists from the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated that they used modern bioseparation technology to isolate and breed a variety of highly effective microorganisms and developed a microbial compound that can handle straw. Through the pretreatment method of compound bacteria, the internal fiber structure of the straw is changed, the straw becomes soft and loose, so as to facilitate the decomposition and utilization of anaerobic microorganisms. The introduction of the fermentation into the pool can make the gas production start time 4-8 days earlier, and the gas production can be increased by 30%. the above.

It is understood that currently the Chengdu Institute of Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Beijing Baiyiyi Ecological Energy Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. has established a straw pretreatment compound microbial production base that has been put into production with an annual production capacity of 1,200 tons.
