Optimum grafting time of peach trees and method of grafting peach trees

Peach trees suitable grafting time: the best time for the spring is mid-March, autumn is better in the first half of September, early easy to produce fluid, too late is too low to survive.

The grafting of peach trees is generally used by fruit growers in spring and summer. After many years of practice, the author can actually graft in autumn and winter, which can increase profits. The method is as follows:

1. Grafting in the spring: From mid-February to the end of April, the moisture of the rootstock has risen, and can be cut at a distance of 8-10 cm from the ground. Grafting with scion grafting can be used to graft scion on the variety. The survival rate of this method can reach more than 95%.

2. Grafting in the summer: From mid-May to early August, the sap flowed vigorously, the peaches sprouted, and the new buds were not yet full. It was a good time for buds to pick up. The dormant buds can be cut at the lower end of the growing branches or sprouting branches for the scion, and budding is carried out on the sunny place where the rootstock is about 10 centimeters from the ground on the sunny side. Two weeks later, the junction site was clearly bloated, and some colloids were secreted. The buds were greenish, indicating that they had lived. After 2-3 days, the anvil stem was cut outward 0.5 centimeters from the upper part of the interface. The cut was a horseshoe shape to facilitate the healing of the wound. When the new shoot grows to 6-8 cm, insert the supporting column on the stocking of the rootstock, bind the new shoot, and guide the upward direction of growth. If no grafting is found, secondary grafting can be performed in time.

3. Grafting in the autumn: From late July to late September, the buds of new buds have already been formed at this time, and the scion with petiole can be cut for budding. Seven or eight days after grafting, if the preserved petioles touch off, it proves that grafting survives. After the live plant, the anvil can be cut at 0.5-1 cm above the interface before the second spring budding (from late February to mid-March). It can also be planted directly by semi-emergence method.

4. Grafting in winter: From the beginning of November to the end of January of the following year, rootstock sap has stopped flowing, and rhizome grafting can be used. That is, cut the anvil stem from the top of the rhizome, remove the soil around the rhizome and graft it. After the branches are grafted, gently cover the surrounding fine soil and let the scion expose a little, and then cover with the mulch to protect the lotus root, keep warm and prevent drought. The role of Lili overwintering. In late spring, where the living scion will germinate quickly, then the plastic film can be removed in mid-March to early April. However, it is necessary to observe on time, as soon as the scion sprouts early, the mulch film will be uncovered, and the late germination will uncover the mulch film. In short, it depends on the germination situation.
